I highly recommend the last album by The Walker Brothers, Nite Flights.
It was made in 1978, a decade after they broke up. Each member of the band wrote a different set of songs. Scott did the first four songs, and they’re real good. Psychedelic pop. Not anything close to the crushingly awe-inspiring terror of Tilt or The Drift, but good weird-ish pop nonetheless. Interesting to hear his voice used for something other than over the top drama.
I had qualms with the scott walker movie. Although the detailed history was awesome, I think they just simply spent too much time shooting video of british celebrities listening to Scott walker and enjoy the music. If I wanted to watch people sit and listen to Scott walker, I could do that at home.
BTW: we also eventually saw that Pola X movie that he did some music for: it’s super frenchy. It’s kind of like David Lynch minus the mysticism and Hollywood stuff. It also has some members of Sonic Youth in it at one point playing in a distorted guitar and trash metal percussion ensemble.
I used to go to the Lions campground every year. I didn’t do drugs there. Nor did I drag race. They definitely walk the walk.
